CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We aim to create sustainable buildings and ensure that we responsibly manage and reduce our health and safety risks, impact on the environment and potential disruption to local communities.
Diamond Fire Safety as part of The Diamond Group of Companies has a fully integrated health, safety and environmental management system certified to BS EN ISO14001 and OHSAS BS EN 18001 by BM Trada which underpins a culture of sustainable construction during the delivery and life cycle or our projects.
We reduce waste created and, where possible, reuse and recycle before responsible disposal of waste materials. We are dedicated to ensuring the materials that we use are from a sustainable source and that our supply chain understand and share the same commitment.
The company regularly works on projects requiring BREEAM certification which creates sustainable environments and enhance the well-being of the people.
We have a dedicated team who work closely with members of the community and the construction teams, ensuring mutual understanding and respect for each party’s needs and interests. We actively encourage our employees to add value to the communities in which we work through local initiative and fundraising activities.
We register our sites with the Considerate Constructors scheme which monitors our operations against robust code of practice taking into account the environment, the community and safety.
A large proportion of the doors we replace if not required by the resident are gifted to local organisations that can be re-purposed and re-used.
Health & Safety
A first class health and safety record is supported by the award and accreditation and inclusion of the British standard for the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, or BS:OHSAS 18001, which is fast becoming the prerequisite for working in occupied premises.
Our Operations Manager, Lenny Feliha, with 20 years' company experience, is responsible for all H&S in the project delivery stage from RAMS to full notifiable works.
Supported by Tim Sawka who has 15 years experience working within educational compliance, we ensure all employees possess an enquiring mind that takes responsibility enforcing safe working procedures.
Diamond Fire Safety’s sites are externally audited for safety compliance; another measure and further recognition of the importance a safe working environment represents to our customers, the general public, the supply chain and our employees.
‘Investors in People’ underpins the working culture at the Diamond Group of Companies.
